Intro
In October 2021, radicant Bank, an initiative backed by Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank, embarked on a mission to build Switzerland’s first mobile-only bank dedicated to sustainability. Their unique value proposition: combining next-generation digital banking with a commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. AOE was selected as the strategic technology partner to design, implement, and scale this vision — from architecture and backend development to cloud deployment and integration.
Challenge
radicant’s ambition to create a fully digital and composable banking solution required a highly secure, scalable, and interoperable infrastructure. One of the key challenges was the development of a robust digital e-banking backend and the creation of an integration layer capable of connecting the Finnova core banking system with various third-party providers. These included Swisscom, Axigo, Salesforce, Contovista, NetGuardian, and others — each with its own protocols, APIs, and security requirements.
