Initial situation and core problems

Challenge

The transition from a case-based project logic to a shared, product-oriented mindset posed fundamental structural, cultural, and methodological challenges for nexnet. While the focus had previously been on individual customer requirements, the new product logic demanded shared responsibility, coordinated processes, and new organizational structures.

Approaches and realization

Solution

AOE supported nexnet with a structure and culture pattern analysis as a methodological approach to make implicit patterns, structural conditions, and cultural dynamics visible. Structure and culture pattern analysis is a proven tool to uncover hidden patterns in organizations, reflect on them systemically, and set targeted impulses for cultural change and structural development.

The process began with a kick-off session involving the executive team and representatives from various departments. This was followed by ten qualitative, multi-perspective individual interviews. The hypotheses derived from these conversations were systematically developed and consolidated.

The results were visualized on a Miro board and summarized in a compact report. The joint reflection of these patterns with a broader group of participants proved particularly impactful. This step created space for previously unspoken topics and fostered productive discourse.

The report has given us an honest and differentiated external perspective. It revealed key aspects that are crucial for our further development. It was challenging in places, but exactly the kind of impetus we needed to take a step forward as an organization.

An analysis is effective when it creates irritation – not to unsettle, but to open up spaces for dialogue. The structure and culture pattern analysis reveals what has previously remained unspoken – and thus lays the foundation for real change.
