The action week “Wiesbaden Engagiert!” has been bringing non-profit organizations and enterprises together for 15 years with the goal of promoting cohesion in common projects. AOE employees have also supported the action week in the past, thus motivating some employees within the company to utilize the expertise they bring to their daily work for charitable purposes.

Through contacts with the organizers of the action week, in particular through AOE's membership in the CSR Regio.Net Wiesbaden company network, it became clear that those responsible wanted to improve their business processes and were looking for motivated experts.

First workshop at AOE

In early July, the team of the department for Corporate Cooperation in the Office for Social Work of the state capital Wiesbaden met with AOE employees in Wiesbaden. After initial contacts – which were also reinforced through previous campaign weeks – both sides were curious to see how AOE, as an E-Commerce specialist, could continue to support the department on a voluntary basis for future campaign weeks beyond the campaign week, which took place in June 2019.

In a relaxed and open workshop atmosphere, a common understanding concerning the issues and challenges that arose during the organization of the action week was quickly reached. After this analysis phase, new ideas as well as possible optimizations were discussed and initial approaches for more comprehensive solutions were found. In the subsequent prioritization, the first specific challenges, which were scheduled for rapid implementation, were addressed directly. The goal: implement improvements in the organization of “Wiesbaden Engagiert!” in a timely and agile manner.

Major future developments will also be taken into account and, if possible, implemented as well. Ideally, a platform can be developed that will make the action week, as the largest of its kind in Europe, applicable to and successful for other regions.

Tackling issues together with new partners, receiving interesting insights and creating cohesion – that is the action week “Wiesbaden Engagiert!” With this in mind, both sides look forward to continuing their close collaboration.
