“CIO Review” interview with Kian Gould: Open Source software movement gains momentum

Renowned Silicon Valley magazine interviews AOE founder and CEO Kian Gould about companies that benefit by turning to providers of Open Source Enterprise web solutions.

Open Source software (OSS) is continuing to gain traction with companies that need Enterprise-level solutions, particularly when the customer requires an omni-channel business platform.

Specialized integrators, such as AOE, have been gaining market share in recent years, stealing the thunder from established proprietary vendors such as Oracle, SAP or Microsoft. Kian Gould, AOE founder and CEO comments on this trend: “We strongly believe in a best-of-breed integration strategy, rather than the proprietary vendor strategy of trying to build overly complex suites of software to cover every use case imaginable.”

Sophisticated digital omni-channel enterprise platforms go beyond content management systems and E-Commerce. Customers are demanding all-encompassing solutions that integrate Product Information Management and Customer Relationship Management with analytics and business intelligence, to name but a few of the many features required in new projects.

According to Gould, Open Source offers the perfect combination of time-to-market, investment security and innovation and is thus perfectly suited to meet the needs of demanding customers on a global scale.
